AWS Electronics Engineer Cycles 800km Across Belgium for Douglas Macmillan Charity

‘AWS Group proud to sponsor Robert Plant as he embarks on week-long cycle event for local charity’

Newcastle-under-Lyme, UK – May 2018: AWS Electronics Group, one of Europe’s leading Specialist Electronics Manufacturing Services Providers, is proud to sponsor AWS Electronics Engineer, Robert Plant, as he raises money for local Douglas Macmillan charity for the ninth year in a row.

Robert first started fundraising for the charity in 2009 through organising a cycling event in the local area on behalf of an old school friend staying at the local Douglas Macmillan hospice. Following the success of this event, Robert went on to organise a charity bike ride annually, raising a total of £10,000 over the last nine years. The cycle routes have become more challenging each year, with Robert due to embark on a week-long 800km cycling event across Belgium in July 2018, in memory of family friend, Nancy Kinsey, who passed away earlier this year. Robert is more determined than ever to complete the gruelling bike ride as he was unable to complete last year’s event when a serious accident, 380km into the journey, left him with a broken hip. After a lengthy recovery, Robert is now ready to take on the challenge of this year’s event. AWS Electronics Group are delighted to be sponsoring Robert again and would like to wish him the very best of luck.

If you would like to sponsor Robert online, please visit his fundraising page here: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/robert-plant8.
